HARMONIC FILTERS

Using products by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR)

MR's GRIDCON® harmonic filter solutions for free arrangement are installed in all systems where space is not an issue or where system shells are to be avoided or the electrical design sets the limits. The systems are installed and commissioned on location at construction sites with a low degree of prefabrication. The correct selection of components and auxiliary structures such as sunroofs allows it to be used around the world in both indoor and outdoor applications. The primary areas of application are for inductive and capacitive reactive-power compensation as well as for harmonics filtering in the medium-, high- and extra-high voltage ranges.

Benefits of GRIDCON® Harmonic Filters

  • Reducing operating costs by reducing the reactive power relevant for invoicing.

  • Reducing system perturbations and preventing equipment from overheating by reducing harmonics and attenuating resonance points on the grid.

  • Preventing production disruptions and ensure compliance with the voltage distortion specified in relevant standards.

  • Obtaining and retaining operating permits, ensuring compliance with grid connection requirements and make grid connection possible by complying with the required reactive-power regulating ranges.

  • Providing and handling system services for grid operators.

UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY

The development of unique conductors to satisfy various needs.

In collaboration with Japanese electrical power companies, SEI and JPS have continuously developed wide variety of unique new technologies and products, such as Aluminum-clad steel wire (AS wire), OPGW, ACSR/AS, NS-TACSR, GTACSR or ZTACIR, LL-ACSR/AS and built a reputation as a pioneer and leading manufacturer in the overhead conductor industry. SEI will create new products that will provide society with solutions which not only assure a stable energy supply but are also better for the environment.

ROBERT BROWN

Engineering and Commissioning Manager

Mark Palmer received his Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South

Wales with Honours. He further earned a Master Degree of Engineering Science specialising in Power Systems Engineering.

Mark has a long experience with global OEM’s such as ALSTOM Grid, and Siemens both in

Australia and in Germany where he led the delivery of 15 GIS substations.

More recently, Mark particular experience in the rail sector having successfully managed the introduction of a new DC breaker to Transport for NSW and Sydney Trains in their MIG (Minto, Ingleburn and Guildford) Substation Projects. This process was exhaustive and following successful approval is not the standard for Sydney Trains.
